FLS allows to generate font names with dots but who knows how they will work in apps... I have never met dots in font names before.

Although we do try to track bug reports in the forums,
a much more reliable route is to use our bug report
form at <a href="https://support.fontlab.com">support.fontlab.com</a>

Thank you!

I agree with Alex; I have not seen it done, and it seems like the kind of thing that, if untested, may cause problems somewhere.

Why? Many apps that allow formatting of text with arbitrary fonts have their own handling/storage of font menu name and/or PostScript FontName. The possibilities of apps making arbitrary assumptions, however incorrect, is nearly endless.  :(  We have seen this in the past even with major apps such as Microsoft Office.

Hence, if the font is intended for broad general use, caution is sensible.
