QUESTION    Change Font Quick Key Default

Discussion started on Other Topics

Hi, I have a problem that I want to solve and have looked high and low for an answer. I finally came across a comment someplace else that gave a hint as to what my problem is. And this forum seems to be the best place to come for answers.

I'm the designer for a magazine. When using quick keys, the font we use for the main text does not change the style to what one would expect.

The font is Praxis LT Pro. When I use quick keys to change to italic the result is 'Heavy Oblique' and when trying to get bold the result is 'Bold'. That just does not make sense at all on the first one.

I read in an Adobe forum that this is a predetermined setting by the author who made the font. If this is true, is there a way to change this?... I would prefer to be able to use quick keys for italic and bold and get 'Light Oblique', 'SemiBold', and 'SemiBold Oblique'.

Thanks much!

Support+Docs, FontLab
I don'y know the source of your version of PraxisLTPro but the one I found in the web was created with TransType 4.0.1 which means it is a result of font conversion. It looks like the family wasn't converted correctly meaning that the style links 'bold', 'italic' and 'bolditalic' are broken. That is the reason you cannot use the shortcuts to change styles.
To change this, you have to open each font in FontLab app, correct their naming on the FontInfo > Names page and then re-export.

Although we do try to track bug reports in the forums,
a much more reliable route is to use our bug report
