The next public release of SBL Hebrew (v1.11) is just about ready, and will be going to SBL for distribution soon. It is similar to the v1.09 pre-release available to this community, but has some improvements and bug fixes.

I have drafted a new version of the manual (v1.03) and since I'm always looking for ways to improve this and make it more helpful to users, I have uploaded the latest draft to the community documents page: (To see the link, please log in.)

Please take a look at the draft and let me know if you can think of any improvements or spot any errors. I can't promise that all suggestions will be implemented in the next release, but I will take note of them all.

John,
Before  I check the manual I just have one thing to say - PLEASE put the
overdot and the over hollow circle at two of your many available spots on
the keyboards.  These signs are used over and over by Dead Sea Scrolls
scholars.  Pick up any volume of Discoveries in the Judaean Desert (there
are 35 in all, I think), and you'll see these signs over and over above
Hebrew letters that are questionable or only partly preserved in the
scrolls.

Andy,

The above dot (U+0307, also used in masora and to indicate a letter used as a numeral) is accessible in the new keyboard.

The hollow dot is not supported in the font, and it is too late to add it to the new revision. I will make a note of this, and will add it in the next version, once I have figured out how it should be encoded.
