Create Chinese + English font

Hi,
I need a font for a Flash website that contains Chinese and English and has as small file size as possible.
I like the Kaiti style which ships with OS X and Adobe Creative Suite, but the font is huge. Need to strip out all unused elements and bring the font down to less than 500k. Anyone with any experience doing this?
