The whole reason to buy typetool for me is to modify one character ($ dolllar sign) in the Courier New font.  The line in the dolloar sign is not all the way thru the S in courier and I need it.  So I open the Cour.ttf file, modified this one character (looked good), save it and generated the font and put it back in the Windows\font folder via Control Panel/Fonts.  When I use it in notepad it shows my modified character as I saved it but when I go to print, it shows the old character. There must be something else I need to do, I am sure but dont know what.  If someone can direct me to some right steps, I will be much obliged.
I had downloaded the demo but it distorts when you save so I could not tell that it did not print correctly.  Now I bought this and am stuck.

Also the product download did not come with a manual.  Do you know where to find it?
The product I bought is TypeTool 3.
Thank you in advanced.

Look for the manual on the TypeTool page:

As for your question I think it is possible that your printer substitutes the font if it has it in its memory.
