Greetings, I have been playing with the demo of your Typle Tool program and it seems like it will work for our purposes. However, before we purchase the full package, I have a few questions. When I try to recreate the symbols that I need, the letter is always transparent. The symbol is just a black circle with a white letter on top. But, the background color shows through the type. I'm creating it by simply pasting the the vectors from Illustator into Type Tool.

So...
1. Can I make a font where the letter is a solid color?
2. Can I change the color of the letter when using the font?

Thanks, Kevin

PS. I have tried to include a picture of the symbols, but I get an error that the download folder is full.

Hi there Kevin.

1. No. If the surrounding circle is black then the letter is a gap. Any color you would put on, would be to color the circle.
2. Nope either. You can only color the circle.

What you could do if you want to go to the trouble is to make this symbol as two glyphs in the font, one for the circle and one for the letter. When you are using the font, color the letter as you like and kern the space between until the letter is on top of the circle. This of course is hardly an option in regular word processors.

If you are using applications like InDesign you could also simply paste the symbol in the colors you like as an .ai file into the text and it would float around just like any letter.

You need to create a compound path with the A and circle. That is the best and simplest solution for 1. In illustrator, just select the A and circle and hit command 8 on mac. Don't know what it is on windows.
