Can TypeTool be used to simply flip the characters in an existing font (horizontally)?
I have some text that reads right to left like Hebrew, but no software will allow me to type right to left.
So we need to reverse the glyphs in the font so when we flip the page they are correct again.

Thanks

This is possible with the Tools > Action > Mirror operation. But flipping glyph shapes will brake the kerning I think.

Alex

Thanks for the reply.

Is broken kerning easy to fix? I am yet to buy the product so have no experience with it. Just need it for this one job.

Thanks,
Mike

That depends on the kerning pairs quantity. You will need to "reverse" kerning to have pairs like "aT" kerned instead of "Ta". Anyway you may try with the TypeTool Demo.

OK - all done. And the flipped, renamed font works on my Mac system. But the person who needs to actually use it in MSWord is finding that this font is still showing up as the original version. Is there something else I need to do to distinguish this edited font from the original? (Aside from telling the person to get a Mac)

Perhaps he should reset system font caches?

So they're trying to use it on a PC, right? Have them go to their fonts folder (Start - Settings - Control Panel - Fonts) and delete the font.  THEN install the new version.
