I recently purchased TypeTool 3 to create a font containing symbols for use in music notation software (Sibelius). I am a composer, and have only limited experience with graphics and fonts.

I am able to create most of the symbols I need within TypeTool,, but in some instances I'd prefer to use a drawing tool that provides various types of dashed and dotted lines. I do not own Illustrator, and would like to use freeware such as Open Office Draw. I have read the support information relating to bringing artwork from Illustrator into TypeTool, and have attempted to use a similar process as much as possible. Yet, when I create artwork in Draw and attempt to paste it into TypeTool, the artwork always ends up in the Background layer rather than in the Outline layer.

Am I missing something or making a mistake somewhere? Or is it maybe not possible to bring in artwork from Draw?

Thanks for any help.

Dave
