Hi all, I've checked the forums and this is the closest thread relating to my issue.  http://forum.fontlab.com/transtype/converting-to-font-families-t7.0.html  I tried replying to that thread, but I got a note suggesting to start a new thread since that thread is over 120 days old.

I'm basically having the same issue as the original poster.  I convert multiple Mac fonts (in the same family) to Win TT, but when all the fonts are installed in a Windows machine, it only shows one of the fonts in the font menu (on any app).  I've tried all what the original poster tried, including changing the Font Family name for each font style. ie. XXXX-Bold.ttf has XXXX-Bold as the family name, XXXX.ttf has XXXX as the family name.  But still, only one font can be seen in the menu.

According to Der FontMeister, FontLab can change the font names, and is successful at fixing this issue (this was also confirmed by another forum).  But I was under the impression that TransType Pro 3 can do the same thing.  Had I known TransType had limitations, I would have invested in FontLab instead.

Is there anyway of fixing this issue within TransType Pro?  Or does one have to buy FontLab?

Thanks in advance.

I have exactly the same issue, and in addition in my case if I just try and convert only one font from the family on Mac to PC TT, once I install the font on PC it defaults to whatever is the default weight of that family.. in the case of Champion Gothic Welterweight, it always appears as Champion Featherweight on the PC...

eric72,
There is a bug in TrT Pro for Windows. It prevents changing names and styles in Properties.

dsire,

Are you also on Windows?
