Hello,

I have installed TransType Demo on a PC running Windows XP SP3.

I want to convert Type 1 fonts from a Mac.

I used Stuffit to pack a font family in a single file.

But while opening the .sitx file with TransType, I get the troubleshooter windows asking me "What kind of fonts do you want to convert?". It doesn't work!   Angry

When I read your tutorial on this website, screen caps are made with an old mac system!
I don't understand how TransType works and even if it could resolve my problem.

Thanks,

Stéphane

Have you tried sit instead of sitx?

I can't try with .SIT (stuffit demo just allows .SITX).

I tried with .ZIP and .TGZ but the problem remains the same...

The last possibility is to use MacBinary: http://www.sketchpad.net/macwinfonts8a.htm

MacBinary Huh
Do you mean I need to do computer archeology?

I downloaded MacBinary but OSX asks for the System 9 Classic to run!

I don't have this old system and I wouldn't install it on a Mac running perfectly.

So...
TransType doesn't work?

I tried TransType on a Mac (don't forget it's not my Mac):
it works, i.e. TransType can convert Type 1 from Mac to Type 1 to PC.

But when installing on c:\windows\font...  a message asks me if I want to convert into TrueType!!!  Angry

Whatever I choose (converting or not into TT), I can't see and use the converted font!

Why is it so difficult?

Why is it so difficult?

Some people say that Mac is an easier thing. Smiley
Please send me the font in question to apetrov at fontlab dot com.

It still doesn't work with Type 1 fonts.

I converted Mac Type 1 into OTF and it works  Grin

Ok, thanks.
