Converting a Mac Type 1 to opentype/PS for use on PC and MAC

I want to know which Codepage to use when I convert to opentype.
Should it be the default Unicode?

Yes. OpenType fonts are Unicode fonts. But note that the result depends on the source glyph names: glyphs should be named properly in the source font.
