Converting a font type

I am very new to fonts, but just purchased the trans type pro so that I could save a lot of time converting a number of otf fonts to ttf fonts. That seems to work...but I've run into a snag. I'm doing project to install fonts into an online design center. I'm running into issues with fonts that are not the 'regular' style. I can tell the fonts that aren't regular because they have the 'i' or the 'b' next to them when I add them to the left column of transtype pro. Since the bold and italic style fonts were not showing up in my design center, I decided to try to switch the type to 'plain' by using the dropdown tool on the right hand column. I thought this might work, but it didn't. When i open the converted fonts...they still show up as 'bold' or 'italic' font types. Can someone please let me know how to convert a font type to regular?

If you want a family on the PC then they all will have the same FAMILY name and there can only be four weights.

If you don't want a family then just give each member a unique name.
