After installing SBL Hebrew fonts, my backspace key no longer performs all of its normal functions in Word.  For example, I can't use it to adjust formatting of paragraphs.  It's very frustrating.  Does anyone have a solution for this?  Thanks!

The font can't have this kind of effect by itself, but it is possible that activating support for right-to-left scripts may affect backspace behaviour (as it affects cursor behaviour). I don't fully understand your problem though. Can you explain in more detail what you mean by using backspace 'to adjust formatting of paragraphs'?

I don't know if this is related, but I have/had a similar problem with Word:

After pasting Unicode Hebrew text into a Word document while the language mode is not "HE" (normally EN for me), then when the cursor is at the end of a line (any line, the "soft" line breaks), the backspace key does nothing. I have got used to used the right-arrow key followed by up-arrow key to get me where I want to go. (Just now I can't recall whether the "Home" key is similarly afflicted.)

Some computing support people at my place of work were fascinated by this, but couldn't work out what was going on... Of course, it wasn't directly related to the SBL Hebrew font itself.

Thanks for your responses.  To describe the situation more accurately-- when I try to use backspace, for example, to combine two adjacent paragraphs, the key is totally unresponsive.  I've begun to find some ways around this, and saw on a different forum that there may well be a connection between the installation of the right-left Hebrew keyboard and the backspace issue.
