Is it possible to create a font that will display by default with a color other than black, such as red or blue?

I realize I can set the color to red in the application in which I use the font. I am specifically asking if it's possible to create a font that is red on its own, that will be red in a text document without having had its color set by the application.

If this is possible, how do you do it? What software do you need. I'm using TypeTool 3.

Thanks!

Dave

I hate to disappoint everyone, but yes, it is possible - but not with a vector font format like Truetype, OpenType or Type 1. You have to use a bitmap font format like photofont. Since bitmap fonts are not automatically recognized by applications and operating systems that means you have to use plugins. Cumbersome, but it works. See www.photofont.com
