I am trying to create a duplicate of the "Symbol" font found in Windows applications. This will later be modified, but for now a simple working copy would be good enough.

I open the original, change the names, create the new font, and install it. In Word, I can see the new font, and it works. BUT there is a program called MathType, which is where it is used, that does not recognize that the font even exists. It's default font is symbol, so an exact copy should be recognized.

Any ideas why I am not even able to create a copy font that is recognized in MathType?
