How to remove the font Times New Roman from Windows 7

How can I remove the font Times New Roman from Windows 7? If I try to do it, a message appears saying that it is a system font and cannot be removed.

(I could do this without problems in Windows XP in order to install afterwards a slightly modified version of the TNR font for my own use.)
