I can't find any information or help on this subject, and I don't see anything about this in the manual either.

When I generate my new font I get these [WARNING] messages and I don't know what I am supposed to do about them.

Does anyone know what these warnings in the output Panel mean or how to fix the problems? Thanks in advance!

1:
[WARNING] <myFontName> Pair positioning has two different values in 'kern' feature; choosing the smaller absolute value: Abreve
[WARNING] <myFontName> Pair positioning has two different values in 'kern' feature; choosing the smaller absolute value: Abreve

YES, IT SAYS THIS TWICE IN A ROW for some reason.

I get several of these duplicate warnings. About ten pairs or each problem glyph: Abreve, Aogonek, Emacron, Ebreve (there are 4 duplicates of that warning), Edotaccent, Eogonek, Ecaron, OE, Tcommaaccent, Tcaron, and Tbar.

2:
[WARNING] <myFontName> Start of new pair positioning subtable; some pairs may never be accessed: [A Agrave Aacute Acircumflex Atilde Adieresis Aring Amacron Abreve Aogonek] [S Sacute Scedilla Scaron ] [/Users/admin/Library/Application Support/FontLab/Studio 5/Features/fontlab.fea 3019]

I get tons of these warnings for various glyphs.

3: (This is not a warning. It's a note.)
[NOTE] <myFontName> Removing duplicate glyph <> [/Users/admin/Library/Application Support/FontLab/Studio 5/Features/fontlab.fea 3029]

I get tons of these warnings for various glyphs.

Re: "3. removing duplicate glyph" means you most likely have the same glyph twice in a kerning class.

"1. ...Pair positioning has two different values in 'kern' feature..." means you have kerned a pair of glyphs twice. Perhaps one instance is in a kerning class and the other not.

"2. ...some pairs may never be accessed:..." pairs not accessed may be the above problem as well. It means you have already kerned pairs that will prevent the other pairs from being accessed.

Simplest way to fix all this is to open the OpenType panel then save the feature file. The resulting file ("myFontName.fea") is a text file that you can open and read. Do a search for each glyph mentioned in the various error messages and you should find the problems. Once you get a clean file with no errors save for future fonts.

Go to "Kerning Assistance" and click the "Ying-Yang" looking icon and it will tell you what glyphs have duplicate placement in kerning classes. It also show the ones in red on the display so you can decide whichnone you intend to keep.  Delete the repeated reference in the other class and click the "replace kern feature" button.
