is there a way to avoid generating the "seac" style endchar code in charstrings - other than getting rid of components?
Adobe describes it as deprecated feature that should be implemented for compatibility but delivers at least one software that cannot handle it

In the Preferences, in the "Generating OpenType PS (.otf)" pane, check the option "Decompose all composites".

Hi,

thanks - I tried that in the meantime. First I sort of suspected that this might cause the font file to grow, but there was only a slight change in the end. One thing that surprised me, however: decomposing composites before publishing (and not saving the vfb) results in a somewhat different otf file than checking the decompose option. It could be something like the two dots of a dieresis appearing in different order
