Merging two unicode fonts (latin and bengali)

[potasiyam]

I need to merge two different language unicode fonts into one (bengali and latin, both are ttf). Is it possible? if so then would you please give me a guideline?
By doing this will it hamper the opentype table layout? I dont have VOLT source file of the latin font.
Please help.
