Currently a font can be designated read only etc., but a specific OpenType tag is not set in this manner to legally prevent reverse enginnering software from grabbing most of the essential OT code (less the naming sceme).
In my view, this is barbaric, and encorages pirating ast the highest level. If a tag specific to the OT code existing, such reverse enginnering software could only "interpret" public domain OT fonts (which are crappy), and good stuff would legally off limits.
Adam, can't you do something? Can't Simon add this simple tag into Volt?
