Hello.  This is my first entry.  I am an office clerk but supposed to work with fonts and now in trouble.

Is there any way how you can show all the glyphs contained in a font in one table or at-a-glance style using FontLab products or Illustrator ?  If it can be done, I would like to consider the purchase of such product.

I don't have any specialized knowledge about typography and fonts and do appreciate explanation with plain words.  Thank you for your assistance.

If you just want to see what glyphs are in a font, FontLab would show them, but that seems way more than needed for your purposes. SIL ViewGlyph is free and would probably be all you need. (http://scripts.sil.org/ViewGlyph_home)

@ Lorna

Do you know, whether ViewGlyph can display unencoded glyphs?

@ plsteach

The FontLab Studio trial is not limited with regard to your purpose.

Yes, ViewGlyph allows you to view by glyphid. You have to choose whether to view by Glyph ID, Unicode, Windows Character Set or Mac Roman. It displays different info depending on your choice. You can also view the cmap or the names table.
