Has anyone else encountered weird behavior in VOLT's proofing tool?  Sometimes only the final glyph in a string is processed.  Other times a feature seems to be applied even if I have unchecked the box and checked another; for instance, if I enter "eight seven five", check the subscript feature, hit "complete,", then uncheck subscript and check old style numerals, the eight and seven turn out as subscripts and the five becomes old style.

I have rechecked all my lookups and can't find anything wrong.  The correct lookup is highlighted in blue in the middle column to match what I checked in the left column.  Also, if I quit VOLT and restart then everything works correctly for the first lookup, then the same problems resurface.  I'm using Vista with SP2.

Thanks - David

You know that the features apply to the glyphs that are selected in the input glyph name field, yes? So, for instance if you want to test the <liga> feature on the glyph sequence

f f i

you need to select those glyph names in the input field before checking the feature boxes. If you have a glyph with a longer name, e.g. 'germandbls', you can put the cursor anywhere within that name in order to activate a feature. Selecting or placing the cursor on a glyph name will show which features are checked on for that glyph. The best thing to do is to a) enter the glyph names in the input field, b) select the entire glyph name string and turn on any features that you wish to apply to the whole string, c) individually select glyph names for discreet features that will apply only to those glyphs.
