I work on a persian font, and try to make 'kern' feature between "Reh" and one of this characters: "period", "colon", "exclam". My 'kern' feature do not work with these and has no affected. But with other symbols like "arabic comma", "arabic question mark", or "arabic semicolon" It work properly. My Application is also MS Word and Adobe InDesign.

Please see attach files; In picture 1 (ataach file 1), 'kern' work properly, but in picture 2 (attach file 2) not work.

Can anybody help me to solve this problem! Tanks all.

This should work on Windows Vista, but not on earlier versions of Windows. What is your testing environment and application version?

Note that even if you copy the Vista version of the Uniscribe DLL into an older version of Windows this kind of kerning still won't work. It requires a non-Uniscribe component that is only available in Vista.

Unscribe had some hacky old logic, when normal period, comma, and question mark had been manully substituted with Arabic characters in right-to-left text. It happened only on machines with Arabic user locale.

This may be what you are hitting. However, exclamaition mark is not in this list. Was it exclamation or question mark?

Thanks,
Sergey
