Good afternoon,

So as to write Fulani language (an african language) in ajami (arabic alphabet), I wanted to adapt an arabic police by adding new letters and diacritics so logically new substitutions. So first I took the KufiStandardGK mac police and then I added the new letters (in isolated, initial, medial and final positions) and marks (for the voyels e, é, o and oa) with Fontforge. I used the private placements E000 to E03E.

I also added the substitutions with fontforge but I noticed it did not work when I generated a new font. So I tried to make the ligatures and the substitutions with Microsoft Volt.
The script was ARABIC, then the language Default, and next I did the features. I compiled, etc…and I tried it in the Proofing Tool and all worked. I created a new key board layout in order to write with the new letters. But then, when I installed the font on my mac, only the traditional arabic ligatures and substitutions worked, that is to say alif, beh, teh, etc and the fatha, kasra, etc. But as regards the new letters and marks, substitutions did not work, and then when I wrote one of the new marks, it did not go on the letter as a diacritic does it, but it behaved like a letter. Moreover, ligatures between the new marks and shadda, and the contextual swash I added did not work.

Perhaps someone could help me! Thank you very much and sorry for the trouble.
