For 2012 MacBook Pro with 4GB, Transtype4 worked better than Windows 8 October 31, 2012. But not as bad as Windows 10, September 01, 2015. Basically, it would install, but that's as far as Mavericks let it go.
Hard to fault it's application Window for about 15 minutes - it took that long to open. It could then load a font, but that froze it. This is not to fault TRT4. Office 365 ws also installed, which is always crashing something belonging to Mac, if not toasting the OS. This month, Microsoft is actually updating Office 2012 for Mac to Office 2016 for Mac. For Office 365 Subscription, that means free upgrade - likely requiring another Mac OS reinstall. Needless-to-say, soon as 2016 is running, TransType4 is paying a visit from PC, where the Mac installer is safely stored.
