Hi support people!
What does this error mean, and how to avoid it?

This is not the error but the warning. It appears in Fontlab Studio but should not appear in TypeTool. You may ignore it completely.

Although we do try to track bug reports in the forums,
a much more reliable route is to use our bug report

I'm getting this warning in TypeTool 3. I tried placing the definitions at the beginning of my FEA file, as suggested by this FAQ:
https://store.fontlab.com/index.php?option=com_fss&view=faq&catid=4&Itemid=430
.
Code:
[Select]
languagesystem DFLT dflt;
languagesystem latn dflt;
...but every time I export a font, it seems to rewrite the FEA file and clear out the language system definitions. How can I fix this??

TypeTool doesn't support fea files compilation and it has limited support for OpenType. The FAQ item you refer to is for Fontlab Studio 5.1/5.2. All you can do in TypeTool is to ignore this message and forget about features.
