Is there any auto hinting in TransType 4 regarding the webfont conversion? If so, which?

– FontLabs autohinting (is this based on existing PS-hinting like in FontLab?(
– Fontforge’s?
– TTFAutohint?

It is slightly updated (and fixed) FontLab autohinting.

I noticed the files getting quite large. Are the hints in both X- and Y-directions? For web fonts we only need hints in the Y-directions which also keeps down te file size. Perhaps an option for this would be ideal to include?
