My Font comes out way too small
« on: 2013-12-01, 17:26:59 »
I have worked up a font that I love, but it doesn't present right.  I would be grateful on any hints how to fix it. I attached screenshots of the font at 14pt, 72pt and the metrics from TypeTool3.

Go to File / Font Info / Metrics and Dimensions, and in Font's UPM size change 1000 to something lower, e.g. 900 or 800. The lower the UPM size, the larger the type appears at a given size.

OMG! That works! Thank you!  Now...When you double click to install the font in windows, the tops and bottoms are cut of.  Should I worry about that? It tests out fine in Illustrator ... whoops... not good in notepad... darn... same as in OpenOffice.

I generated an otf for testing.

I fixed the truetype version by unchecking scale values to UPM on the additional font metrics window (I definitely had it unchecked on the font UPM metrics settings)

As well as I made sure to un-check the calculate values automatically.

Now ... True Type version looks good....

OTF... still cut off

Is fixing the OTF version not possible?

Hi Adam, I really appreciate your time.  Do you know if there is a way to fix the OTF version as well or is there something I am missing?
