[Problem / Windows] TransType4 is not able to work with Type1 Fonts

I'm having consistent issues getting TransType4 to interact with Type1 fonts. TransType3 can handle them as can be expected, and TT3 refers to my Type1 fonts as: Mac Suitcase fonts Family. In TT3 I can drag and drop, and click the (+) 'add' button to locate my fonts on my local PC and in a network share and add them for conversion. In TT4, I am unable to add the fonts by either dragging and dropping or by adding via the File menu.

Maybe 1% of all the Type1 fonts I've attempted to add into TT4 have actually successfully been added, where 100% of all the Type1 fonts I've attempted to add into TT3 have successfully been added. I don't know why some succeed in TT4 where the rest error out.

I did notice that TT4 refers to the full path of the font file using forward slashes (/, //) instead of backslashes (\, \\), so that could be a (or the) cause of these problems. However, I can add OTF and TTF fonts without issue. Only Type1 are causing problems.

I'm running Windows 8.
