A new build of the AFDKO has been posted.
« on: 2012-09-14, 12:46:19 »
A new build of the AFDKO (adobe Font Development Kit for Opentype) has been posted at:

This has a number of important bug fixes for font developers who use the AFDKO to build OpenType/TTF fonts, or fonts with mark GPOS lookups and/or a GDEF table. The 'checkOutlines' tool has several fixes for cases where it reversed outlines or removed the wrong outline. There are many minor fixes.

People in China and Japan may not see the new page ( "Current build 58807, Sept 13 2012") for a few days, but everyone else should see it now.

An earlier release ("Current build 58732, Sept 4 2012") was posted a week ago. The new release includes a bug fix in makeotf for building TTF fonts.
This release marks the beginning of a period when I hope to make a number of bug fixes to the FDK. If you have any outstanding issues, this is a good time to forward them to me. The next release will be in a few months. I have noted the bugs reported in this forum. These are not fixed in the new release, but will be fixed in the next release.

Thanks, Read! How does this impact font design software interaction with new AFDKO?
