Bitmap Fonts - using them for Print

Discussion started on BitFonter

Just like the other topic in this folder we are wishing to create some image fonts to use on a commercial variable-data print project and this seemed to be the right choice of software however, we are having trouble using fonts made of images. There is lots of explanation about formats but none about how to install them and use them! It seems that bitmap fonts don't really work in Mac OSX so we switched to a PC but just cannot even install any of the formats we have created into Vista - its seems to only accept TTF or OTF?

Can anyone explain how to install and use Bitmap fonts and use them (we would be using them in Photoshop and InDesign).

You may try the Photofont format. It is not fully integrated into Windows but you can use it in Photoshop.

Although we do try to track bug reports in the forums,
a much more reliable route is to use our bug report

Try to use the latest release of CS4 by adobe on it. Old versions of photoshop might have errors or some file incompatibilities. You can use bitmap fonts for prints, you just need proper editing on it.
