Do you need to use any other program besides Bitfonter to create a photofont (phf)?

I'm also wondering if you just have to do a "save as" in Bitfonter to make the phf, or if you have to export it?

BitFonter is enough. But you may want to use Photoshop or Painter or whatever you like for drawing glyph images.
I'm also wondering if you just have to do a "save as" in Bitfonter to make the phf, or if you have to export it?
Phf format is among others in the Save As dialog. So Saving As is the only option.
