Newbie problem with FLS5 and Acrobat pro 7

Hi all,
I'm making a few truetype fonts using FLS5 and they have been working fine (on screen and printing wise) except with pdfs. I'm using Acrobat 7 Pro. In the pdfs some of the letters are either missing or the outline is distorted so it looks like not all the points are there. What is it that I'm doing (or not doing) that would cause this? Thanks in advance.

my first thought is a hinting issue - did you adjust your hinting prefs or do any autohinting?
