Managing bitmaps on Type 1 hinting
«

Does anyone know if there is a way for me to directly manage bitmaps while hinting a Type 1 font, in the sense where I directly click on whatever pixels I want to show? The manual doesn't seem to mention anything about it (though it does when explaining TrueType hinting). Many thanks in advance.

No, that is not possible. The rasteriser uses your hints to make the bitmap.
(under Mac OS up to 9 it was possible to add bitmap fonts to PostScript)
