In fonts that I have on my computer (ones I didn't make, that is) there is a way to push Alt+four numbers to get special characters to come up. What is this whole thing called, and how can I make the special characters in my font get assigned shortcuts to have them come up in a word processing program? I hope this makes sense. I have a lot of characters in my font, as it is a wingdings type font with only pictures and symbols. My font window was in "names mode" and I ran out of places to put glyphs. Then I switched it to "ranges mode" and there was more room. Am I doing this right? Is this the right way to access more space for additional glyphs? Thank you in advance for helping a newbie out.

>these are called extended characters. The live in the slots above 127. So to get character 155 you hold ALT while using the NUMERIC KEYPAD to enter 0155.
