I’m pasting a filled vector shape from illustrator cs5. When I past into the correct outline layer and have preview turned on it appears that by default that my pasted object has a “Fill Tint” of 0% by default. It appears that the only way to change this is by getting the info for the given glyph and changing the fill to 100%. Am I understanding this process correctly? Is there a way to make pasted vector objects from illustrator automatically have a “Fill Tint” of 100%?

I don't have CS5, but I found the same thing happened when pasting vector outlines from earlier versions of Illustrator into FOG 4.7.3.  I got used to resetting the fill on all glyphs.  You can select several glyphs at once, and then change the fill on all at the same time.

Also, don't forget to choose "Correct Path Direction" from the Element menu once you do have the outlines pasted, to be sure the fill works correctly.

Thanks for the response and the "Correct Path Direction"tip  Cheesy

Sounds like my experience is common. It seems like this would be such a common task to do that there would be a preference or keyboard shortcut to simplify the issue. I wonder if anyone at Fontlab has a response?

When you do your Copy and Paste, the glyph in Illustrator should have NO fill although it can have a stroke. When pasted into FOG it will have a 100% fill and if it had a stroke, that will go away.
