Kerning from text file

Under advanced kerning, there is ability to perform kerning on select pairs specified in a text file. When I try to use this method, I get an error message could not be completed. unexpected end of file. What format does the file have to be? One pair per line, all pairs in single paragraph separated by space, or is there some unknown delimiter missing?
