I am using F 4.7 on Mac OS 10.5.8 and have been adding unicode characters, such as, Amacron, to Type 1 fonts. I can work with the new characters individually in the metrics window but I want to try them in context with other characters and display all the new characters at once using a test file.

The trouble is F only allows plain text files to be used in the metrics window and text files do not allow unicode characters, like Amacron.

Is there a work around? At present, I have to test the characters in MS Word but that is cumbersome and means installing each version of the font.
