I have a font in which I want the space character (U0020) set to a width of 1000. If I export the font to FontLab, which I want to do because I trust it more than I trust Fontographer to generate fonts without problems, the size of the space gets set to 500. If I put in a single point, something that we had to do at one time in Fontographer as a work-around for a bug, FontLab complains when it generates fonts, saying there is a disconnected path. My solution is to set the space character to a width of 999.99 and this seem to be OK and FontLab sees it as 1000. But shouldn't there some other way to do this?

If I export from FOG to vfb with the space character width equal to 1000 then Fontlab Studio opens it with the space width equal to 1000. Both are Mac versions.
