Characters missing in Metrics window

Hello, I'm new to Fontographer. I'm running Fontographer 5, and when I go to the metrics window to adjust the kerning I have a few characters that come up missing. I addressed it with tech support at Fontographer and they had me clean up the amount of points, which I did, and it still won't work properly. has anyone else had this issue and if so what can I do to correct this problem?
