Hi FontLab-community,

unfortunately once again there's a big question mark in my head ...  Huh

I would like to know why glyphs of "Zapf Dingbats"-system font (.dfont; working with InDesign CS4; Mac OS X 10.5.7) are adressable via keyboard, although their unicode position is 2192 and higher.

Example: The glyph BLACK SQUARE can be inserted via typing the "n" on keyboard, although, when viewed in FontLab, it has Unicode position U +25A0.

How do we explain this?

Thanks for your help!  Smiley

Greetings from Hamburg, Germany
Jan

The correspondence of n to U+25A0 is defined in MacOS Dingbats codepage:
