Dear FontLab Studio for Mac OS X users,
this month, we're planning to start a beta program for FontLab Studio 5.1 for Mac OS X.
FontLab Studio 5.1 for Mac OS X will be a free update for FontLab Studio 5 users which will allow you to run the application natively on Intel Macs. The application will run on Mac OS X 10.6 and also on the upcoming Mac OS X 10.7 Lion.
We're looking for dedicated beta testers who will participate in a fairly short (several weeks) intensive testing program. Our main goal for this release is stability and completeness of FontLab Studio 5 functionality. There will be only a handful new features in 5.1, most of the functionality will be identical to 5.0.4. However, due to the native Intel code, the application will run much faster, even up to 2.5x faster than the current release. You should be able to use FontLab Studio 5.1 beta in parallel to your existing version 5.0.
To participate in the beta program, you should be an experienced user of FontLab Studio 5 and already have a license for the product. Also, you need to be registered on the FontLab forum (
http://forum.fontlab.com ), so if you are not yet, please do so before completing this form.
