In FontLab Studio, sketch mode should be free from the regular constraints which occur with start points. I should be free to delete start points of change their type. When I convert to outlines, a new location for the start point should be resolved by the software.
Green/curve start points should behave like other green/curve points. When I move a green start point along a curve, it shouldn't create a cusp.
The way it currently works, if a start point is on a curve's extreme and I delete that point, it moves elsewhere along the curve. The only way to smooth out the curve properly is to insert several nearby curve points. In practical terms, once you've deleted the start point on a curve, the sketch is ruined.
If you delete a start point, the start point moves to the next available point. If you add a new point where the start point was deleted, it's impossible to change it to a curve point. Double click all you want, it stays red.
