AfterEffects has a great feature that saves a new version of a file and increments a number in the filename. It would be great to have a feature in Fontlab that saves a new version of a font and increments a number in both the filename and the naming information within the font itself.

Interesting idea. I believe it makes more sense when you generate (not save) a font and have FLS increment the version number (e.g. from 1.003 to 1.004) and the unique name automatically.

Doing it that way would both slow down proofing and make it hard to know what version of a font a file is without opening it. The last thing Fontlab needs is to be less efficient.
