Metrics: ignore anything after first component

I would like to be able to view metrics of glyphs built from components without considering the metrics of anything other than the first component. For example, if all of my i diacritical glyphs are built from dotlessi, and dotlessi is always the first component, I would like to view them in the metrics window and have it only report metrics relative to the dotlessi component. This functionality should also ignore anything beyond the first component, including paths, so that it does not become confused by glyphs such as hbar and lslash.

This could be implemented as a button in the glyph window, metrics window and in the metrics assistance tool.
