I'm working in Win XP, Fontlab Studio 5.0.4 and we recently installed a new Windows 2008 server. Now saving (simply doing a Ctrl + S or File, Save) takes as long as 30-45 seconds. The font files size doesn't seem to matter much, even fonts that aren't particularly large take a looooong time to save.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail.

Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks,
Ken

How big is the file? Do you have lots of scans in it and hundreds of points per glyph?

Nothing extraordinary, no scans at all and only 638 relatively normal glyphs.

I posted the same question to Typophile's Buld forum, someone there speculated it likely had more to do with SMB2 (Server Message Block Protocol Version 2) on the 2008 server. Which seems likely given that I hadn't had the trouble with these same font files before we installed that server.
