I'm working on a symbol font which consists entirely of wide glyphs (like 3000 x 700 in size) where the right side is all that differs from glyph to glyph (some have ™, some have ®).

Using Fontlab's main Font Window, all I can see is the middle of each glyph. Is there any way to "override" the square view, or is there a way to get the glyphs to fit entirely in the font window square? I'm currently forced to use colors to mark which glyphs have ™ and which have ®, since I can't see it in the regular view.

Clicking "Size" just magnifies the center portion, which still doesn't show what I need.

If this can't be done, then I'll ask for it in the Feature Request forum.

Thanks
Darryl

There is a method. You can change this with tweaking Preferences/Glyph window/Dimensions/Visual Ascender & descender

That's just for the Glyph window, and it only changes the view dimensions. I usually have the view as "fit" so it doesn't even affect that.

I want to have a preference for the Font window, Glyph cell so that my wide characters can fit. I can't change the em square since then the font will be much smaller than the nearby text.

Thanks anyway, Alex.

You are mistaken. See the screenshot attached.
