I've a font with ASCII space and about 30 Private Use characters in it. All the font headers are generated in the normal way I do things, everything seems OK. FontBook under 10.4.11 and 10.5.7 reports the font as Valid. XP doesn't consider it valid, and I've sent to others, someone on OS X 10.4, and someone with Vista and Windows and they don't consider it valid either.

The colleague with Windows also has FontLab 5 and opened the font and generated a new font and sent it to me. This is valid, but has some of the headers removed (Open Type names for instance). So I have both my bad fonts and his sort of good fonts, but no way to tell really what is happening on my end that's buggering things up.

Any advice?
