In FontLab Studio:
Select a glyph made of composites. Copy. Find another glyph with composites. Paste special and choose right and left sidebearings. The composites are stretched horizontally about 10 times their original width. It doesn't every time but often enough in the last few years that I take steps to avoid it. I make a copy of the font, decompose all glyphs then copy and paste special sidebearings from there. Every time a new version of FontLab is released, I check for the bug and it's still there.

I think it will be fixed now since you have reported about it.

I had mentioned it on the old forum too. Has anyone else noticed this bug? I've encountered it quite often over the years. I'm surprised that it's not mentioned more often.

It’s pretty well known and comes up on Typophile now and then.
