I am using FontStudio 5 to add some glyphs to a commercial font (Garamond Pro) for private use. When I try to save the font as a  OpenType PS font, the huge number of OT kerning pairs results in the font not being generated. I have therefore deleted the kern OT feature from the font.

However, the kerning info is still in the Kerning Assistance, and it is my understanding that I should be able to get FontStudio to use this to make the necessary OT data. However, this still seems to result in problems. In order to get the font to generate at all I have to uncheck all the boxes on the Generate OT and TT: Kerning. Of course if I do this there is no kerning at all!

Any ideas about how I can generate the font with kerning preserved?

Thanks!

The content is beyond my understanding  Undecided  but there might be some pointers in this presentation as to potential kerning overflow problems and how to overcome them...
